Generating Abundant, Affordable Maryland Power
Maryland families increasily cannot afford to heat their homes in the winter and keep them cool in the summer. This is because of the failed energy mandates adopted by Annapolis that make it impossible for Maryland to generate the power we need, forcing us to import it and driving up the cost for consumers. As your Delegate, Jake will fight to repeal these disastrous mandates, promote the development of natural gas infrastructure, and prioritize practical solutions like Nuclear Power over other sources have that proven inadequate to meet Maryland's generation needs.
Keeping Crime out of Harford County
Maryland must get serious on keeping its residents and businesses safe from lawbreakers. Jake will stand against the tide of pro-criminal legislation coming from Annapolis and fight to restore the authority of our law enforcement officers and state prosecutors to put violent criminals behind bars and keep them there. Jake has a strong record as Bel Air Town Commissioner of fully funding the Bel Air Police Department and he will bring that advocacy for our first responders with him to Annapolis as your Delegate.
Fighting for Lower Taxes
Maryland families are being crushed with tax and fee hikes coming out of Annapolis every year. The reason for these increases is simple: Annapolis believes that Marylanders are responsible for picking up the tab for their irresponsible spending. As your Delegate, Jake will fight tooth and nail against that mentality and lead the charge to put your money back where it belongs: in your pocket.
Cutting Wasteful, Destructive Spending
In order to cut taxes, Maryland must first cut out its spending addiction. This bad habit, fueled by irresponsible and failing education, transportation, and climate initiatives, must be kicked. Annapolis never met a problem that it thought couldn't be solved with billions of dollars. As your Delegate, Jake will fight to force Annapolis to live within its means and address the root causes of the state's issues instead of voting to apply a billion-dollar band-aid.
Supporting Small Businesses
No one is feeling the pain of increasing taxes, energy bills, and crime like our small businesses. That's why Jake has tirelessly defended the small business community in Bel Air and will do so for the entire state as your Delegate. Jake will fight against harmful regulation and policies that make it harder to operate a small business. Employed by a small business right here in Harford County, Jake is keenly aware of the sacrifice and contributions our entrepreneurs make, and he will bring those stories of free market success with him to Annapolis.
Defending Local Control
As Bel Air Town Commissioner, Jake has seen first-hand how Annapolis has gobbled up the authority of local communities to make decisions about their own backyard. Whether it be in policing, zoning, or budgeting, the state legislature has grown increasingly hostile to small communities like ours exercising self-government. As your Delegate, Jake will fight to keep local power in the hands of the communities where it belongs, instead of auctioning it off to unelected Annapolis bureaucrats.
